I just got back from lunch with my dad today.  Granted it was a pretty early lunch, but it was the only time he could do it.  He's a very busy man as a superintendent of a school system.  Most of the time he spends his lunch meeting with parents, teachers, students, etc.  But he was nice enough to clear his lunch schedule to spend time with me.  We don't really get to see each other much, so its always great whenever we get to hang out.  My dad and I used to spend time together a lot when I was younger.  Mostly because he would drive me home from school everyday and take me to all of my sports stuff.  I really miss spending that time with him.  We used to talk about deep stuff, but also joke around too. 

I met him at his office, which is incredible by the way.  Its the biggest office I've ever seen, and he has every inch of it decorated with stuff that he loves.  He has everything from a picture I drew when I was in elementary school that won some awards hanging up, to a picture of him playing football when he was in college.  Of course he's got all of his degrees and certificates hanging up.  Soon he'll be able to put his doctorate degree up there, since he's working on earning it now.  Anyway, we went out to Applebee's for lunch and had a great time talking.  Right now he is interested in finding some us marine corps jewelry or eagle globe and anchor jewelry.  He was in the marines for a long time, but he's not really a jewelry kind of guy so it kind of shocked me lol.  He just wants something nice that he can frame in a shadow box and hang in his office.  I should have known

The lunch didn't last longer than a hour because my dad had to get back to work.  I was sad to leave because I miss him a lot.  It's hard living in a different state than your family.  You don't get to see them as much as you would like to.  Anyway, now I'm home and enjoying a cup of this.  Its my favorite!  I also found this great cover of Bob Dylan's Boots of Spanish Leather by Tyler Hilton and this girl named Alexa.  Honestly, I had never heard of the song before I found this cover lol.  But I looked up the original song too, and I love it.  What a great song.  You can check out the cover here.  Enjoy.  Peace.
