I saw it yersterday as well. I was at a friends house in the parking lot listening to my iPod when I noticed a man walking by me who just happen to stop next to me. I looked at him and noticed he was looking up into the sky. My curiosity lead me to look up as well when I saw a line a smoke that followed what looked like a rocket. I was blown away by what I was seeing since I had never been able to see such a thing live and so close before. I hate to think that the first thing on my mind when I saw this rocket was N. Korea with all the BS that's been going on lately with them (that's what I get for watching too many movies). I really was like something out of the movies. But then I remembered about the launch I heard on the news. After all, I only live about 2 hours away from Kennedy Space Center. I ran towards the back of the building where my wife was with the kids in a small playground and was yelling "look at the rocket, check it out". By the time they heard me and moved to look, the only thing you could see was a small light dimming as the rocket left the atmosphere. Of course, the trail of smoke was still there but was far away from the light at this point.

It was the coolest thing I had ever seen, and the most scariest at one point as well. I thought the worst there for a moment. Sad things are this way.

I was coming home on my bike when my neighbors told me (about 7) that it was going to lift off in about half an hour or so.  They were congregating outside getting ready. 

I went inside, took a shower, turned on the tv and started to fix dinner when I saw it lifting off on TV in a split screen. 

I ran out the front door, flung it wide open and ran outside.  Sure enough it was as though I had a front row seat right there in the front yard.  How awesome was that?   That streak of orange and then white and then seeing the shuttle break off was pretty cool.   That streak in the sky leftover from the launch lasted for quite a while.  I was able to still see it like 20 minutes later when I went out to get the mail. 

Only in Florida!  

We were about an hour and a half away and we had good viewing!

Even after we got home, we could see the curly waves of the smoke for quite a while!  When my son pointed it out to me, we saw the rocket making its way up, then there was the giant sparks in the sky as it shot further up!  My hubby was inside but he said he heard the loud kaboom of it!
