Eh, I'm not much of a football fan Elie (even though I played it in high school -of course EVERYBODY plays football in high school in Texas). But I did get to go see a Cowboy game once when Roger Stabauch, Tom Landry, and Tony Dorsett were there! Heh, that's been awhile...

Modman - I hear ya on all of this. I've been a Giants fan since ... 1977? What can I say - I was in Germany the first 4 years of my life and didn't actually get to start learning about football (American style) 'til I was 4.

Through good times and bad and the WTF moments when Eli was making his mind up on whether he was playing for or against the Giants... I've been a fan. Living in VA, it's taking your life into your own hands displaying the colors, but it's worth it! We do see more Grey&Blue than Maroon&Yellow for some reason.

Is that a reference to Plaxico Burress? The sound of an unlicensed gun going off, perhaps? Because the abscence of the big man has hurt them, no doubt.

I am a Bronx-boy, born and bred, so naturally a Jints fan. Did you ever see them play in the Stadium?

The Giants found a way to get it done last year, but I'm not so sure they'll get there this time. I've loathed coach Coughlin since the Jaguars/Dolphins blowout that turned into Dan Marino's last game. I wasn't a Fins fan, but when the score was like 40+ Coughlin should have removed his starters like Brunelle and Taylor and treated the game almost like it was pre-season. I thought it was unsportsmanlike for Couglin to run up the score and embarass Marino like that.

yes, jerks and assholes abound everywhere, look how the Yankees treated Joe Torre last year offering him what was basically less money and "incentives" to make more, Like Joe needed "incentives" in the first place In 12 years with the yankees he brought to the team 4 world series rings and made the play offs ALL 12 years {I am not sure of this}

The Giants looked unstoppable, then BOOM! the last four games of the season they lost three out of four, while the Carolina Panther game was a win for the Giants granting them home field advantage and a bye week {they get to rest for two weeks total} Really I do not think they will even get to the super bowl, sadly I think they will not win the first of their playoff games, {win or go home from here on} This years team is not last years team that ruined the New England Patriots perfect season to go on and win last years super bowl.

Modman, you don't need to worry about the Giants. This year there are no "great" teams just a lot of "very good" teams. I think the only team the Giants have to worry about in the NFC is the Eagles.

The Giants are far and away the best time in the NFC I would be very shocked if they lost to any team other than the Eagles on their way to the Super Bowl.

Now winning the Super Bowl will be a whole another matter. ;

One month ago it looked like the Giants were unstoppable, their record was twelve wins and one loss. Then Plaxico Burris their best receiver had a meltdown, besides not being able to play, he went and shot himself in the leg, in a city {New York} where simple possession of a handgun breaks the very old Sullivan law and carries a seven year sentence.

The reason the Giants looked so vulnerable in December WASN'T because of Burress but because of injuries to the true stars of the team. Brandon Jacobs was hurt and both their offensive and defensive lines were banged up. The week off will help. So look for your beloved Giants to look as good as they have all year in 2 weeks.

Marino and the Dolphins just completely sucked that game. Coughlin DID treat it like a pre-season game. With 12 minutes still left in the 2nd quarter Brunnell was already on the bench. Marino threw an interception on his 1st pass then the 2nd time he tried to throw he got sacked, fumbled and the Jags returned it for a touchdown. Maybe you meant Coughlin should have benched the defensive starters.

I can't believe your suggesting another team should lay down just because a team's star player is retiring. Do you think Dan Marino thinks another team should lay down for him?

With 12 minutes to go in the FIRST half it was 38-0 and the score at half it was 48-7. Mostly every starter was already benched and every 2nd or 3rd string Jag player played the 2nd half.

Don't get mad at Coughlin it could have been worst. Miami was a turnover machine that game. You should be mad at everyone of Marino's teammates who played battled and sweated with him all those years then didn't show up at all his last game.

Next thing you're going to tell me you hate Andy Reid for "running up the score" against Dallas last Sunday. Poor Terrell Owens.

well sadly it looks like my prediction of a Giant collapse happened as they played like a high school football team and lost to Philly, now there is not a number one seed left as we swing into the AFC and NFC Championships, I will be rooting for Arizona in the NFC and Baltimore in the AFC, Flacco the {rookie} quarterback for the Ravens looks and talks like he has been playing for years, I like his style, but can HE HOLD up against the number one Defense in the NFL in the steelers?
