The article says that specter is going too. This isn't about being traitors, this is about reinventing the American government without permission. This is about stripping the executive branch of it's constitutional power.

We are in for hard times unless the corrupt congress of the US is reigned in. They are out of control and answer to no one but the parties that pay their bills. It doesn't matter which party is in the majority, nothing changes, and now they want to hijack the constitutional diplomatic role of the executive branch.

If this were just treason, it wouldn't bother me a bit. Our government has the tools to deal with people who commit treason swiftly and with finality. What we can't deal with is the government itself losing touch with its own definition and becoming the chaotic mess it has become. This is far, far worse than simple treason.

There's been conflicts historically, and there have been turf wars in our darkest times between the different branches of government. This, though is the beginning of a new era. Wait and see.

That's because it isn't about any particular party. It's about trying to shift diplomatic power to the branch where the most corrupt, represented by both parties, can get their slimy hands on it. This may very well be the last strong presidency we ever see if we end up with the kind of election we are asking for in 2008.

It's a sick, sad mess, and people don't care because they are brainwashed by "bush is evil" silliness. Those who aren't are brainwashed into believing one or the other party will behave differently. They won't. They've learned with Bush that they can't afford to allow the President the kind of power the constitution grants the office.

Agreed! the entire congress is guilty, the right as well as the left. It just happens that Bill Nelson is todays most guilty.
