The admission is free,
Shall we look at this menagerie?
Let us stroll,
Take a look at your mind and your soul.
Fear, doubt, and depression,
Appear to thrive in this darkest section.
A skew of the world lies here,
Only something strong can tame this fear.
Ah, what is lurks here?
Something small and cringing like a deer.
Your love and trust,
Unwilling to venture out when they must.
Behind bars and wire they stay,
Just biding their time until they come out someday.
What is this, ever so bright?
Ah, happiness and joy exuding so much light.
So lovely, warm, and nice,
It is sad that they live encased in ice,
Ice that dwells within this place,
Separating us from the human race.
Now we come upon a rundown part,
Where hope resides within the heart.
Working overtime more than normal,
Ah, hope is essential for every mortal.
One place left to see,
Where dreams and imagination fly free.
Yes, this is what hope works to build,
An area that is not completely filled,
Without the wretched worries of the world we hold,
Where our greatest thoughts and fantasies unfold.
So this is what resides in our soul,
Many parts of one whole.
Our emotions, doubts, dreams,
Allow us to experience the world beyond what it seems.
Sometimes our mind grants us a free pass,
So that we may deny the horrors that can consume us so fast.
