Living life in a quiet desperation,
Waiting, watching,
Just someone on the sideline,
Looking out at the action,
But not having the courage to join the game.
Silent,
And sometimes afraid,
Afraid to take a chance,
A leap of faith,
Afraid of what others will say,
But desperate for friendship,
Understanding and respect.
Away in your own private corner,
Toiling alone,
Not trusting those around you.
One lesson,
You must learn.
Do not live silently,
Take action and speak,
Do not fear the ones who love you,
For they are the ones you can rely on.
If you take the plunge,
Cast your fear and problems aside,
Take the risk,
You will not be desperate anymore,
You will be free,
Free to live how you choose,
And be governed not by your fears.
