Today Muslims in many countries like Egypt and Saudia Arabic are celebrating the Eid Al-Adha or the Adha Feast or the great feast ,other islamic countries like Pakistan will celebrate it tomorrow.The Adha Feast is being celebrated for 4 days and the Waqaft Arfaat before it so the celebration takes exactly five days.
so what is the story of this feast ?
This story of the feast goes to the famous sacrifice incident of Prophet Ibrahim (Ibraham) and his son [in Islam the son was Isamil ,in Judasim the son was Issac].the story goes as follows in Ibraham saw a dream that he is killing his son as sacrifice to God and he understood that that wasn't a dream by it was an order from God he should obey ,so he woke up and told his wife [Hagar in the islamic story ] and his Isamil .God wanted to test their faith and obedience by putting them in that hard test so despite the fatherhood feelings of Ibrahim and the motherhood feelings of Hagar and the love of life of young Isamil ,they decided to obey the order of God but the Devil wouldn't leave them alone ,so it went to everyone from the family and treated to presuade everyone of them in every possible way yet they didn't listen to it and prepared for the sacrfice .when prophet Ibrahim was putting the knief on the neck of his young son ,a great Angel came from Heaven down to Earth holding between his arms a huge sheep ,then he told prophet Ibrahim about the test that he and his family succeeded in and to sacrfice the sheep instead of his son young Isamil ,and so he did
and so the Muslims remember every year this incident by sacrficing sheeps and distribute the meat of the sheeps to the poor after the prayers of the Eid in the early morning
The pilgrimage that happens every year in Holy land in Saudia Arabia has parts related to the sacrfice incident especailly it was in the same place where Hagar and her son Isamil used to live in Mecca
