I just don't get how those people can completely ignore the horror of this incident and automatically focus on their agenda. Somehow it just doesn't seem like mentally healthy people to me.

Okay, so this might go over about as well as a nudist in a colony of zealous puritans, but I feel like I need to put in my two cents.

In my opinion, by claiming that what you see is solely a leftist thing, with nary a comment on similar...ill advised politicking and hay making by folks on the right and center...you in turn politicize it. Ironic, no?

The fact is those who would use this unbelievably horrendous event for gain are spread out across the spectrum. In fact, I would say this trait has less to do with ideology and more to do with the fact that some people, whether they be left, right, center, or part of the intergalactic mars party, are just flat out cold, heartless bastards.

/shrug - Not a good thing, but that's just life. Still, I don't think acting political by bashing political adversaries is really going to help. Kind of defeats your intent, right? I think in situations like this the best thing to do is to just ignore anyone who does. Do not give them the satisfaction of being acknowledged and instead simply focus on offering support, love, etc. to those affected by the shooting.

Thank you myfist0, I knew the FDA was corrupt and from personal experience I had pretty well decided that the psychiatrists were ... wrong ... but I didn't know how corrupt the industry really was. I watched the whole video and am more disgusted than I thought possible ... where is my Zoloft. This is almost 2 hours long but well worth watching especially if you or your children are facing psychiatric mental manipulations.

Piers Morgan went on a Twitter rant that same day.  Tweeted at least a dozen things that we now "must" do to limit access to guns.

Not one of them would have prevented the Newtown tragedy.

Progressives are never 'done' with anything.  If they get a law that says you can't have a gun if you have an autistic child in the home, they'll want one that says you can't have one if you have a crazy third cousin twice removed or a felon anywhere in your family tree, living or dead.

Never mind that their version of Nirvana, the "gun-free zone", is by definition a 'target rich environment', where the innocents get killed.  Never mind that banning guns only assures that only bad guys/girls have them.  Sometimes, courtesy of our own Justice Department.

 

Disclaimer:  I've never owned a gun.  Never hunted with a gun, or bow & arrow for that matter.  Have no interest in owning a gun.  But I know many responsible gun owners.

I agree with this idea but I think many would be just as outraged were he to stay silent. As in everything political, we have to be able to filter through the BS which is usually most of the content. I don't know how or why these tragedies should be withheld from the public, but there is no way to be critical in the beginning. This was not a gun problem ... it was a matter of insanity run amuck ... and our inability to protect the children occupying our public schools. What is the normal method of securing any other structure we build … we hire ‘armed guards’ and utilize electronic systems to good effect. It wouldn’t matter if the US was completely gun free … because guns are (violence is) the mainstay of criminals and guns will always be available. He could have done compliable damage with a hand full of sharpened pencils. Most schools around here have police stationed at the schools as an instant responder and to curb school violence … don’t remember hearing about any security at that school … and who could possibly respond from outside within the 4 or 5 minutes of  a devastating attack. If left to outside intervention, we will be sending our police in usually after the gunman is dead (wouldn’t want to rush into these things, a cop might get hurt in their protective armor) and cleaning up the death and destruction of the children we refuse to protect during school hours. The problem I see with the cops in elementary schools is that just because they are there, doesn't mean they will make things safer. Just recently I believe, two police officers were shot and killed while armed.

I don't see this issue with guns and violence as a simple, easy to fix issue. It's messy, full of various people pushing various agendas, and in the end we lose sight of the goal - safety. I would argue that what needs to be done entails multiple approaches, multiple looks. First, lets examine - not saying change - just examine our current gun laws. Are they working? What can we do to make sure they stay strong, but respectful of rights? Second, what are we as a nation telling our kids? We live in a society where some parents are neglectful, ignorant, etc. and that creates a less than stellar environment for the children. This is a rather dicey one because ultimately each child's parent is, well, the parent and they are the ones in control of how their children are raised. Still, it can't be denied that in some cases the people who get involved in gun violence come from a home environment that is - regardless of the parental genders - less than decent. Third, you have the various outside influences, like violent movies, games, etc. The list goes on.

Unless we can honestly address these...I fear we're going to repeat this over and over.

 

 

At the time I posted this, it was the Leftists who had immediately started their campaign. Everyone else came days later, as you well know if you pay attention at all. This was not a political post but a post of outright disgust at ANYONE who would use such a horrible incident for political gain. Anyone with a bit of intelligence should have recognized that.

 

I agree that these "gun free zones" are an invitation to any crazed, mentally ill loony looking to harm people. It's moronic. Schools and such should have big signs reading "Trespassers will be shot on sight". The National Guard could be well utilized by guarding our nation's children at every school across the country, as well as universities. No gunman can possibly kill large amounts of people if he is gunned down shortly after he starts his rampage. That's a simple fact.

Yes, we do need to stop tolerating these acts, and the way to do that is to kill the crazies as soon as possible after they begin their murderous rampages.

Blaming the mentally ill is not the answer either. You not have to be a raving lefty to be anti gun, just commen sense. 

In my country Australia it was a conservative government which bought in gun control, not the left.
