More than likely this is due to the fact that McAfee is a worthless piece of crap program.

it's due to the Xbox 360 Lite suite, which McAfee is claiming changes their system settings.  I just thought it would be important for someone official from WinCustomize to enlighten McAfee on what's going on.

Seems Google is still dragging their feet on the attack page. I just turned on FF's option to block attack sites and it still lists the forums as an attack page. What's up with these people??

I had that free McAfee Advisor install itself on my PC (despite unticking it) with a cleaner I wanted to try (Wise Cleaner or something like that) and it popped up several times with a red flag about something or other I knew I could trust, so I uninstalled it and the cleaner inside the first day.

It ain't necessarily good just cos it's free.

This was a serious problem a little while back. Than it appeared to be cleared up and now about 3 weeks later it started again. I understand the need for ads but they need to be checked. How about when this is cleared up and everything working fine a test is done in house for future additions. When new ads or exe are added to  a page(s) and tested in house than all of the people using the McAfee Advisor wouldn't be red flagged. McAfee has been know for producing false positives for years and that is why I stopped using it about 4 or 5 years ago but it's still used by many people. Comcast customers use to get the full version for free, than about a year ago they switched to Norton. The switch was done because of all the complaints about red flagging. Just a thought.

The thing that pissed me off was that it gave me the opportunity to opt out , then simply ignored it when I opted to use it.  In fact, I didn't know McAfee Advisor was installed on my machine until the first red flag, at which point I thought WTF and considered it's immediate uninstallation.  Trouble was, I was converting video at the time and didn't want to risk having to do a reboot in the middle of it. It was gone at the first clear opportunity, however.

Still, it was pretty rude, just the same.

Exactly my point. That kind of rude is intolerable. It is precisely the same as saying to a salesman, "No thanks." and finding you can't close your door because his foot's at the jamb. 

I'm glad I ran across this thread. I had been considering Site Adviser having used it once before. But now that I use AVG  and they have their own site adviser all is well on my laptop. Not a single bug has gotten through. Another thing I like is that AVG's adviser and FF's play nice together.
