As the Washington Redskins game comes down to the end and Hail Mary attempt (for Philly) that failed, the Redskins will be leaving Philly with a 2-2 record and I think a little on what might have been. Not that I saw the games, as I had been busy with concerts over the last few weeks, but I've been following the Redskins and watching the scoreboards to see how they've done. Had it not been for failures by the defense in the game against Houston, they might be looking at a 3-1 record now, but they just couldn't seem to hang on for that win. Never mind the Rams game which they absolutely blew. At least they aren't winless at this point, and realistically they've been pretty competitive in all of their games. What a big change from last season and the carnival atmosphere, oops, I should say clown college atmosphere that Jim Zorn had and/or was left with.
Realistically, I don't know that Zorn was really that incompetent as he lacked weapons in most positions on the team. A serious failure by the personnel management specialists in the organization. Those clowns are gone now, but their handiwork remains a mess that Shanahan has to clean up over the next several seasons.
Are the Redskins a playoff team? Doubtful. Very doubtful. They'll be lucky to get to 8-8 for the season, but that would be a big improvement after last year.
