May is a big month for my family because it is the time of Mother's Day and my dad's birthday. We love to celebrate as a family and to love each other in that way. My mom and dad are such great people, so its not very hard to celebrate them
.
If you've been reading my blog at all, you may know that my family has a party for every birthday in the family. It's not some big to-do, it's just a family celebration of dinner, presents, dessert, and quality time. Since we all live in different places now, this rarely happens. So when we get the opportunity to be together, we take it!
To celebrate my dad's birthday this year was a bit of a challenge. My dad is much, much busier this year than he's ever been. He is working full time as a superintendent of a school district and also working on earning his doctorate degree in education. This meant that we had to have a miniature version of the birthday party we would normally have for him. We got him so great gifts to make up for it though. We all pitched in an got him one of those military rings for being in the marines and the full dvd set of Ally McBeal. He loved his gifts so much. It was awesome to get him something like that instead of a horse shower curtain or these that we've gotten him in the past.
