there are several references to Jesus as God -
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
(Joh 1:1-14)
- This passage here tells us that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, adn the Word WAS God.....
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
(Col 2:6-10)
- Here we read that Jesus is the fullness of the Godhead bodily
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
(Rev 1:8)
- Here we have Jesus saying he is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the ending.....the first and the last. Also, note, that this refers to Jesus as "the Almighty"....
Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
(Joh 8:56-59)
- Here, we have Jesus refer to himself as "I AM"....before you say that the Jesus wasn't referring to the Title God revealed himself to Moses as, notice that for most of that chapter, Jesus is speaking with the Jews about where he came from, who he was, ect.....When He said "Before Abraham was, I am", the Jews knew exactly what he was saying, that is why they tried to stone him....Remember, when he stood in the court of Caiphas, he was accused of blasphemy.....
There are many many more references to Jesus as God.....like, the fact that he accepted worship (see Matthew 8:2, 9:18, 14:33, Mark 5:6, Luke 24:52, John 9:38...among other passages). He is referred to as the Everlasting Father and The Mighty God(Isaiah 9:6).....he was the creator: "All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made" (John 1:3) and "For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, wheter they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: And he is before all things, and by Him all things consist." (Colossians 1: 16, 17)....also, In Hebrews 1: 1 - 3, you read, "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high".
