It has rained for 2 days now, managing to drown the majority of the day but clear up for lovely (but humid)evenings. However, being cooped up has led to my feeling stir crazy. I have played endless computer games, read, watched tv, cooked, done some laundry--still feel kind of like my skin doesn't fit right.
Yesterday we rearranged the bedroom furniture. Not only do I like this set up better, but it has allowed us to move a bunch of things into the room that make me happy. Because there is so much more floor area, we really needed a rug (we have a tile floor), and fortunately we have several to choose from. One of our favorites is now in place, but it meant changing the whole color scheme, which meant pulling out a new bed cover (a dear friend in India had a silk sari made into a duvet cover for us as a going away gift) and changing/adding artwork. It now is a room that makes us smile when we walk into it--and we get to look at things we like but weren't seeing on a regular basis before.
Moving that room around meant changing the bed cover and artwork in a guest room, so that was more fun. And while we were on a roll, I moved a couple of chairs into different rooms, and brought a table that had been upstairs back down. Not major changes, but it all feels right. I like the feeling that I am learning where these things are meant to be, kind of the same way it's gratifying to intuit a pet's name.
JLO Skyped yesterday and I got to see my perfect grandson, who is getting chubby and long. He still seemed to react to my voice the way he did when I was there--a look of intense concentration as if he's trying to sort out who I am (since I am obviously significant, right?). It was lovely to see his blurry little face. Oh, and JLO's as well...
KT is back from her business trip and we have already talked twice. She will be here in 2 weeks and all of us will enjoy that. But it also kind of freaks me out that that means it will be May. Where is this year going????
The weather tomorrow is supposed to be nice so I am determined to get out of the house... I think a nice walk is in order.
