The idea that you could possibly influence anyone with scary fairy tales of heaven and hell is ludricrous at best. Thankfully nobody takes religious conservatives seriously in American politics anymore.

Do you live in a cave somewhere, or are you just really this ignorant?   Coiuntries that do not allow abortions, have serious problems with women who get botched abortions...  a lot of them die, along with their children.

Liberals do believe in a woman's right to choose, and your stating otherwise hardloy changes the truth of anything.  By taking this hot button issue and trying to make out like liberals are killers -- you would fit right in with Nazi propogandists, that is for sure. . .

As far as liberal being murderers, remember, my conservative friend, it is Cheney who had death squads killing people without the benefit of even talking to the CIA -- not Obama... Now, those were murders.

Abortion is a difficulot topic for anyone, but you always hear liberals saying, "I do not personally like the idea of abortion, but it is up to the women to choose,

This means no one likes the idea of abortion, but there is a reality  that these women face that is theirs alone, and others have no right to force them to birth babies they cannot care for, let alone to force them to go to illegal,poorly trained abortions.

Statistics show that where abortion is legal, crime is actually reduced --  this means the women who make this decision, are actually saying that they cannot raise a child, or sustain a fetus, because their life is a mess, . .  and the stat.'s prove that they made the best decision for society.  This means there are less predators in this world, because these women had a choice between bringing a child into their messed up lives, or an abortion.  

You conservatives bitch about abortion, but I do not see you folk out there volunteering to take in crack babies, etc.,,,  Y

And for the record, Obama says that he wants to reduce the circumstances that cause women to choose abortion,  This is much more sane than Bush, who denied the fact that women will have abortions, whether they are legal or not.  

PERSONALLY, my ex-wife came to me a couple years into our marriage, when I was twenty, and informed me that she was pregnant.  At the time, she was on a medication that causes defects in fetuses.  She told me that she was aborting the child and I had no say in it.  The protestor's were out in front of the place, too.. making the experience all the more painful.  I wanted to run them over, actually.

Remember, the United States are about personal choice, being an individual,.  If we expect to be treated like a free thinking personi n a Democracy, then we have to allow others the same benefit.  Your attitude that you get to decide this issue for everyone else reeks of the Taliban  Saying Liberals are going to hell for supporting individual choices is like throwing a bolder in a glass house,  God is the judge of this behavior, not you... my God is intellectual enough to understand the quagmires of life.

Yes, God is the judge.  That's true and that's my comfort when I see so many abortions and other atrocities.  God is not only intellectual but he's also a Holy God which we seem to have lost a concept of.  He said that if one harms a child it would be better for him that a millstone be hung about his neck and he was thrown into the see than to face God.  I don't know about you, but I take that seriously.   We're not suppose to care so much about our physical self like we do.  It's not about the physical realm that makes a hoot.  It's about the spiritual.  We are both physical and spiritual people but we seem to forget that only choosing to see the physcial side of things. 

are you kidding?  Christians and/or conservatives all over this place are adopting babies and are more than willing to adopt.  There are so many childless couples out there, there really should be no need for abortion.  I have quite a few Christian/conservative friends that have not only adopted but are very active in Foster Care.  If I were to guess I'd bet there were more conservatives taking kids in then the liberals.

I wasn't trying to say Moderate Man was arrogant, just that I think in our lives, no matter what our moral outlook, we will naturally feel powerless to stop certain injustices. The question is do we give in to hate - and I do, often and sometimes without just cause - or do we try to do something that confronts the problem in a way that can give us peace?

When I mentioned slavery, I meant as an institution that commodifies human beings through buying and selling or a caste system or serfdom. About 200 years ago slavery existed in the United States and while today there is still slavery and abuse of children in the world, the majority of people have a problem with it. I think most human beings recognize that others deserve freedom though we might disagree on the boundaries we set up for the practicing of that freedom.

The fact that this is a relatively new phenomenon should give people hope that human morality is, to use a potentially loaded term, evolving.
