The media of course report that the single idiot reporter is a "national hero", while the dozens of reporters who disagreed with him are hardly mentioned at all.

Yep, no praise for the reporters who reacted heroically in trying to prevent the second shoe being thrown and in assisting the capture of a criminal.

I am suggesting that the Arab & American media 1) not accept uncorroborated allegations & trumpet them as if they were true,

That won't happen.

and 2) at least point out the difference between how this would have been handled in the old regime compared to the new one.

The crimes of the old regime have never found a place in the media's handling of the Iraq affair.

For all of these statements you need better proof than the shoe incident. The shoe incident proves ONLY that there are kooks in the Arab world and among the left.

Your examples are also unfair, given that Nazi Germany was allied with Iraq during World War II and with the Baath party and David Duke of the KKK recently visited Syria where the Baath still rule.

Call them right-wing or left-wing, they are the same people.

Why they draw so many left-wing supporters these days it what baffles me.
