Some news today that a few well known MLB players were caught basically red-handed having ordered performance enhancing drugs and supplements. How red-handed? Does having your own credit card be used to pay for the purchases count as 'very red-handed'?
I'm never surprised by how dumb some jocks are. If they were smart, they probably would be doing other things most of the time, rather than concentrating on sports, and going down that career path. They'd be brilliant research scientists, lawyers, and the like. And certainly some athletes are both star athletes and smart people at the same time. There are jocks that are lawyers, doctors, scientists, highly intelligent and talented in the fields of mathematics, Earth sciences and other impressive fields. But I swear that idiots like the ones we've seen in the news lately, the cheaters and scum that have used performance enhancing drugs to try to enhance and elongate their careers in sport, definitely don't do those smart people any favors in ending the stereotypes that most people have of 'dumb jocks'.
