Dave and I have decided to expand our little family and have another 'baby.
No, I'm not pregnant, and I'm not trying to get pregnant. We've decided that we want another dog.
We've chosen a breed - Boston Terrier - and are actively looking for breeders in our area. I saw some Boston's at the pet store yesterday and whilst they were gorgeous little dogs I know that they came from a puppy mill and I'm not about to drop $1100 on a dog that I can buy from a reputable breeder for $500.
We've decided that we want a girl, and I've chosen a name for her: PeeGee. It's an odd name yes, but you have to understand my thought process: she's a Boston terrier. Boston is famous for the Tea Party. The English tea that I drink every day is called PG Tips. See my reasoning? I'm not going to call a dog 'Tips' so PeeGee was the name of choice for me. I didn't like Lipton or Luzianne and besides, I don't drink them every day. I like PeeGee, it's unusual and it has some meaning. I like that. We were going to name Gracie 'Maggie' because she's a Boxer and the girl boxer in 'Million Dollar Baby' was named Maggie. However, Gracie was incredibly clumsy when she was a pup, so we named her Gracie because she WASN'T graceful. Get it?
It's almost like being pregnant. I'm choosing names, I'm making plans for crates for her when I'm at work and bedding and food and potty training and a whole host of other things. I want to be prepared; I want her to come to a home that's ready for her rather than bring her home and not have what she needs on hand.

I have a problem with my inner ear. I had a mild cold the week before last, and last week I started getting dizzy spells that made me grab onto the nearest stationary object and cling to it until it the diziness passed. I saw my doc today, and apparently the cold virus attached itself to my inner ear and is fucking my equilibrium all up. She gave me some Meclazine and said that I should take a couple of days off and try to stay in the same position as much as possible. Apparently that helps minimize the vertigo. I can't take today off; I have a test at school today, but I can take tomorrow off. That way I'll have all day Tuesday and all Wednesday morning to relax and try and make myself better (I've got school Wednesday too).

Speaking of school, I saw something at school last week that realy aggrivated me. I was walking across the parking lot and saw an ambulance coming on campus. When I got to the area outside my classroom, I saw a young guy in a wheelchair, waiting for the medics to come in and get him. When the medics came in to get the guy, I overheard them asking him the usual questions: what happened, when, are you taking any meds, allergies, etc (I hate using etc's. Lucas ruined them for me for life). When they asked him what happened, he said "I was walking along and my foot started to hurt". No fall, no twist, nothing. Just walking, and it hurt. They took his shoe off to see if he had any swelling, and he didn't. No edema, no hematoma, deformity - there was nothing wrong with it. The medic said he probably just had a cramp and asked the guy if he wanted to : go back to class (it wasn't hurting at that time and wasn't painful to the touch), go see his own doc the following day, or if he wanted to go to the ER right there and then.
The guy wanted to go via ambulance to the ER. For a fucking cramp is his foot.
What the fuck?!!
I don't think he realised that the ambulance ride was going to cost him $500 or more. That's a pretty expensive taxi service, imo. I hope that he learns from this experience.

Alright, I have to get off here, pack up my school bags and head towards the Metro station. Riding the Metro is much cheaper than driving to school - in fact, I've only driven to school twice since I started attaneding college back in August.
Finals are next week and I am terrified.
