Good Afternoon All,
A very busy day finally is slowing down. This morning I hopped out of bed early and drove down to the river. There I ran 6.2 miles passing several Great Blue Herons along the way. There were a few other runners, a few walkers and a number of bikers on the dual trails. There are two side by side trails that go for 3.1 mile each way. One is fine gravel for running and the other is soft pavement for biking and walking. I ran using a 2:20/0:30 run/walk cycle.
I felt good the whole distance. I wore my brace, as well, and didn't have a problem with it today. I think the trick is not to put it on too tight to begin with otherwise as the miles go by, everything swells and if not just so, my foot gets cramped enough for it to totally go numb.
The really good news is that I haven't tripped once since I started wearing it while running.
Miles for the week: 19.0
After this, a few blogging replies, a scrambled egg on a bagel with fat free cheese and baby spinach, then off to a wonderful baby shower for some younger friends. Matt and Denise used to live above us in a condo, but moved into a new house. They are a delight. I found out at the shower that Denise's step-father's family goes back to the 1600s in the New Mexico territory. And we think of Hispanics as immigrants. Geezzz.
Now its nap time.
See ya!
