Hi All,
This morning was cross training on the bike. Last night I left my monk's bag at a home I was visiting. So this morning I rode my Trek over there, picked up my bag and rode to the synagogue for a breakfast discussion (2.0 miles). From there I rode to the mall to meet a Zen student. We talked, I drank a bottle of water, and then rode back to my home (4.0 miles). The ride back was all uphill in the heat of the mid-morning sun. Another half bottle of water. At home a quick shower and more water. Now, I think its time for a swim.
The thing I most enjoy about biking is that its exercise, but its also not quite as hard as running. I have been pushing a bit, climbing hills hard, with faster turnover than I would normally use in the hope this will be helpful to my running.
Who knows. The important thing is to get outside and move.
Be well.
