I would settle for the stewardess getting canned for this (in a suit) instead of money, as it is clear she is not fit for this type of work.
well put...i'm not sure that the mother should sue for "millions" or anything frivolous and gratuitous like that. i would like to see some accountability where the people who trained her are concerned.
i was in a taco bell some time back and the employee there kept screwing up my order. after like 3 times, the manager came over and embarrassed the employee while attempting a standard apology with me.
i stopped the mgr. and pointed out my experience in dealing with customers, training, etc...and pointed out that the fact that this employee was clueless was their problem, not the employee's. that if their employee was not trained properly, it is the responsibility of the management and whomever trained this employee.
i explained that belittling the employee in front of me was bad management and indicative (sp?) of the lack of training the employee probably got. and that his behavior was more offensive to me than my order being messed up by a long shot.
i figured that the employees future was short with taco bell after the way i had embarrassed the manager in front of his entire staff. so, before i left, i gave the employee a card of mine and told him to call if he got fired or no longer wanted to work there.
the next day i got a call from the kid. a week later he started as a lot attendant at the dealership i was working for at the time. as time went on, he got friendly with the service crew and eventually became a mechanic and today is doing very well as one.
i don't know what the manager is doing these days. i still go to that taco bell occasionally but i can't remember seeing that manager there since that day.
