Suprise Phone Call

Last night I was sitting watching TV and then my mobile phone rang… it was a number I didn’t recognise. So I answered with a cautious “hello…”

The response that came from a familiar female voice on the other end was “You have no idea who this is…. Do you ?”
My first reaction was to think “Oh sh*t, who did I give my number to when I was wasted the other night…. “

I replied.. “I don’t recognise your number, are you sure you have the right person?”
Her: “Are you sure you don’t recognise my voice..”
Me: “Of course I do” (this was a lie)
Her: “What’s my name then….? “
Me: “Ahh… mmm…. Are you sure you have the right number?”
Her: “YOU don’t remember me”…. “I’m friends with your best mates girlfriend”
Me: “Ohhhhhhh….. I remember now…” (long pause)
Her: “I don’t believe this….”
Me: “MEL!”
Her: “About time…. Your lucky…”
Rewind 6 Weeks.
My best mate was in town for the weekend (he lives interstate) and was keen for a drinking session…
We started drinking at my house and then headed out to a bar to meet up with his girlfriend and her entourage of female friend

I had met these group of girls once before on a night out and I thoroughly enjoyed their company.

When we arrived one of the girls immediately began to pay me extra attention… she gave me a huge hug and a somewhat sloppy
Kiss on the check… wow I thought. Anyway, 5 later I found myself at the bar buying myself a drink and she came
Up from behind wrapped her arms around me and put her hands down into my front pockets… and demanded I go dance with her.
So I obliged… and soon after our dirty dancing we were on a couch making out like adolescents….

The night didn’t end there… she asked me to go home with her… and suggested this be one night of fun, nothing serious.
I’ve never had a one night stand before and thought what the hell I need to experience it just once while I’m young and free.

So I went back with her and had a “great experience”

Morning came and we didn’t exchange numbers or talk about seeing each other again. She drove me home, I got out of her
Car and said goodbye.

Back to the phone call.
So once I had established who had called me, the conversation progressed surprisingly well… after about 10 minutes:
Her: So… I decided I have waited too long for you to call me, so I thought I would call you and see if you wanted to “Catch up”
For a drink…..
I was in shock. I didn’t think I was supposed to call her after she propositioned me with the idea of the “one night of fun”…
I was put on the spot and didn’t know what to do….
Me: Yeah sure… how about you give me your email address and ill email you tomorrow and we can work something out
So the conversation ended and I got her email.
She had obviously tracked down my phone number from friends at a wedding on the weekend.
She sounds keen to meet up, the truth is I wouldn’t have called and pursued her as I was given the strong impression
that was not what she wanted. I now have re re-evaluate the situation and work out what I want to do. My first reaction
has been to not see her, but I’ve decided there is no harm in having a friendly drink and I can take it from there.

Over the last week or so Mel and I sent a few emails back and forth.
I came to the decision that I dont want to go on a date with her because I already know that I don't want things to
go any further.
She suggested I meet her and her friends at a local pub last night, I chose not to. Hopefully she has got the hint.
