An easy way to become an atheist

Probability theory

Pray that 5 black pearls will be found in a coffee cup on your coffee table 10 times a day.

And each day when it is confirmed that there are no 5 marbles, your belief will changed.

Do this for 30 days, and at the end you will be an atheist.

It seems like there are two different atheists here. I see Fox saying "There is no God," with certainty and a high hand to God and I see Jill saying "I don't believe there is a God, I simply lack belief."

Technically speaking that would make Jill more of an agnostic than an atheist.

I believe agnosticism to be the only intellectual decision to be reached without faith entering the equation. Atheism, as with Christianity and others, requires faith.

However it has been my experience in every case with every Christian that I have ever met that manipulation has been the promenent theme. There is a controlling nature associated with religion that I believe is pure evil, and not even seen by the people that commit these crimes.

You apparently haven't met that many Christians, foxjazz, and that's sad.

This should not be limited to Christians. There are Hindus, Muslims, etc that do the same.

And... as Gid points out generalizations are dangerous.

I haven't written in a while.

But the comment on JillUser being an agnostic because she is undecided or something, is kinda bad form.

Agnostic (the word) is only a statement about knowledge, nothing else. There are agnostic Christians, it is not a mutually exclusive term.

It simply means, one cannot know one way or the other. or "It is not possible to know that information".

That wasn't too hard now was it?
