          Kaya Stewart experiences her first serious crush in the distant “In Love With A Boy.”)

               Keen synths open the single, setting an aloof tone. The chorus starts the single. She walks to her locker and there he is, joking with his friends. She laughs to herself. The joke is pretty funny. He has a great sense of humor. It’s her secret, though. It makes her emotions far too real and she isn’t sure she could handle the reality of it. (“I'm in love with a boy/I'm in love with a boy and I see him every day/I'm in love with a boy/But I'll never say his name/I'm in love with the way/I'm in love with his face, I can see right through/I'm in love with the way/The way I'm in love with you.”)

            He walks with a model’s grace. He’s outspoken and won’t tolerate other people getting teased. She has no idea what to do if he spoke to her. She would probably babble. (“It's just the way he moves/And, boy, do I approve/He's got that attitude that I dig/If he comes near and I am standing here/Do I just disappear?”)

                The chorus is sung again.

               He has clear, crisp tone in his voice. It’s not too high-pitched or too low. It’s somewhere in the middle and it’s just right. He’s sure of herself  but not cocky. He is comfortable being himself. (“It's just the way he speaks/And, boy, it makes me weak/He's got that confidence that I dig/If he comes near and I am standing here/Do I just disappear?”)

           In the bridge, she thinks she might be too plain for him. She isn’t into the latest trends and she’s not to go wear anything skimpy. But with their differences, she knows they would balance each other out. (“Maybe he don't like the clothes I wear/Maybe he don't like my hair/But I know that I'm better than good for him/Maybe he don't like my curvy ways/Or all the tricky games I play/But I know that I'm better than good for him.”)

               Part of the chorus is sung. (“I'm in love with a boy/I'm in love with a boy and I see him every day/I'm in love with a boy/But I'll never say his name.”)

               The first verse is sung again.

          Part of the chorus is sung again to end the single. (“I'm in love with a boy/I'm in love with a boy/I'm in love with a boy/But I'll never say his name.”)

                 Stewart broods, wondering what her crush think of her. Despite her outward demeanor of not caring what people think, it does matter to her with certain people. She’s a little of everything, which is where the problems are.The repetition and length of the chorus doesn’t explain the contradiction going on. She seems want to rock out in the chorus but is limited by the R&B added in, which doesn’t seem to be her.

               The promising “In Love With A Boy” bites off more than it can chew at times.
