One of my favorite features of Fallen Enchantress is that despite being a strategy game, every…sing…unit…in the game has their own equipment that can be customized in real time. So you get dancing boots, you put them on, and you see it reflected visually on the map.
Yep, that feature is amazing, but it is not enough used in Fallen Enchantress. I think the items in the magic tree should be random: low level magic items at the beginning and high level magic items at the end.
To go one step further: The spells of the magic tree should be included in the spellbooks (air, earth, fire, water, life and death) and the magic tree should have random spells: low level spells of randomly determined spellbooks at the beginning and high level spells of randomly determined spellbooks at the end.
To go another step further: The weapons of the warfare tree should be included in nine categories: simple blunt, simple cutting, simple piercing, normal blunt, normal cutting, normal piercing, masterwork blunt, masterwork cutting and masterwork piercing and the weapons in each catergory should be random.
