I suggest we do more in-house Summoners Rift on Thursday. I think I need a break from ARAM personally.
I think a few of us are very much in the same boat re: wanting less aram in our rotation. There are a few different things to consider. The obvious thing is that its ridiculously simple for us to not play aram and just do a game on rift. The caveat is that its easy if we have 5 total or less. If we have more than that, well, its still easy, but I'll have to blow off some folks that typically play with us during that time. So, if we get to a point where we are just like fug it, then that's what we'll have to do. We won't bother swapping new folks in or anything - we'll just play until someone wants to piss off and then see if we can find a replacement.
Another way we could do this would be to designate one of the 2 nights we typically do the team game stuff (tues/thurs) as a mixed bag or aram night. Then, on the other night, we'd only do rift games with a max of 5 of us. The holy grail as far as I'm concerned is BALANCED in house 5v5 games on rift (eg 10 of us). The problem with this, though, is that its not easy to ensure decent balance. The other problem, which is the bigger one actually (and leads us into aram nights) is that I'm always trying to get that 5v5 going... and its easiest to pull that off if I know I have 10 people free. The way I try to figure that out is to spam invites and see who i get. I get 10, I can setup a rift game. I get less than 10, then its aram at that point (kind of dickish to invite folks then tell them that we're going to just go do a 5 man game and tell 3 people to piss off. I could mitigate a little if we choose to do pickup custom rift games. I'd invite all of our folks, we'd try to balance, and we'd pick up whoever we can get. That would end our aram spree.
Anyway, what do you think good ol pacov should do going forward?
