Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) revelead in old sriptures!

Prophet Muhammad mentioned in Bibe and Torah

As Muslims we all come to beleive in all the divine religions that came before Islam, and all the Prophets, Jesus, Moses, Abraham..etc (peace be upon them all). However, why do Christians or Jews do not beleive in our Prophet as we beleive in theirs. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has been mentioned in the Quran, Torah, and the Bible. If they have really read their Holy Books, haven't they come across these verses?

God says in the Holy Quran:

Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in the Torah and the Gospel. He orders them good, forbade them wrong, they make good things lawful, forbids them evil, and frees them of the burden and the fetters that hung over them. Those who believe in him, honor him and rescued after the light down with him, those are the winners. (The Family of Imran, V.81)

God confirms that the Prophet has been mentioned in the Torah. While talking to Moise, God says:

The Lord said to me [Moses]: “What they say is good. I will raise up for them a Prophet like you among their brothers; I will put My words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. If anyone does not listen to My words that the Prophet speaks in My name, I will Myself call him to account.” (Deuteronomy 18:17–9)

In this verse, it is clearly shown that God tells Moise about the coming of a Prophet from among "your brothers". As we all know, all the Prophets descend from the same family of Abraham and Adam. God also says" I will put my words into his mouth", which means that the Prophet (peace be upon him) follows the sayings and instructions of God through the Holy Quran, which means that the Prophet came to complete the divine messages of Moise, Jesus, and all Prophets that came before.

Again, the bible comes to confirm, through Prophet Jesus (may God bless him), the arrival of a new Prophet:

"If you love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father (God) and he'll give you another Comforter, because he is always with you. "(Jean1415et16)" When the Comforter, the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth because he will not speak of himself but he says everything he hears and he will shew you things to come "John 16: 12-13.

This verse is somehow similar to the aboved mentioned verse from the Torah. Jesus says "he'll give you another Comforter, because he is always with you", which is quite similar to the verse of Moise " I will raise up for them a Prophet like you among their brothers". This Prophet or comforter will be raised from the same family of Prophecy, this means that Jesus like Moise was a Prophet not a God. Another similarity is "will not speak of himself but he says everything he hears..." Again like the Torah, Jesus says that Prophet Muhammad will follow the instructions of God, revealed to him through the Quran. Another striking contradiction in the verse of the Bible is that it speaks about two different concepts in just one verse: "I will pray the Father (God) and he'll give you another Comforter..." If we explain the word comforter in its context, it would mean "the Holy Spirit" in the Christian thought. Well, it would be inconsistent to say that thiscomforter is a Holy Spirit. Comforter in this sense would mean Prophet.

Bearing in mind the similarities between the three verses, it is only wise and logical to understand that God who sent the Quran upon Muhammad, sent the Bible upon Jesus,and the Torah upon Moise. This means that all the divine message complete one another

Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in the Torah and the Gospel.

The PROPHET prophesied by Moses in the Torah and in the Gospel was Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, not Mohammed.

God confirms that the Prophet has been mentioned in the Torah. While talking to Moise, God says:

The Lord said to me [Moses]: “What they say is good. I will raise up for them a Prophet like you among their brothers; I will put My words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. If anyone does not listen to My words that the Prophet speaks in My name, I will Myself call him to account.” (Deuteronomy 18:17–9)

Yes, you are correct Almighty God does confirm the PROPHET in Deuteronomy 18. First in verse 15 and again in 17-19.

Here are the passages:

Just before Moses died he said, 15 The Lord thy God will raise up to thee a prophet of thy nation and of thy brethren like unto me: Him thou shalt hear:" 17-18, And the Lord said to me: They have spoken all things well. 18 I will raise them up a prophet out of the midst of their brethren like to thee: and I will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. 19 And he that will not hear His words, which He shall speak in My name, I will be the revenger."

(The Gospel passage which fulfills Moses prophecy in Deut. 18:15, 17-19 and confirms this PROPHET is Our Lord Jesus Christ is found in St. John 1:44-49.

On the following day, he would go forth into Galilee, and he findeth Philip. And Jesus saith to him: Follow me. 44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith to him: We have found him of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets did write, Jesus the son of Joseph of Nazareth.

46 And Nathanael said to him: Can any thing of good come from Nazareth? Philip saith to him: Come and see. 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him: and he saith of him: Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no guile. 48 Nathanael saith to him: Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered, and said to him: Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. 49 Nathanael answered him, and said: Rabbi, thou art the Son of God, thou art the King of Israel.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has been mentioned in the Quran, Torah, and the Bible.

So as you can plainly see you are mistaken if you think these passages in the Torah and the Gospels mention Mohammed.

Deuteronomy 18: 15, 17-19

As we all know, all the Prophets descend from the same family of Abraham and Adam. You have come to the wrong conclusion. The PROPHET mentioned in these passages is Jesus The Christ and it ends with Him. Again, note the highlighted part of the passage.... which itself qualifies who the PROPHET is... "of thy nation" and "of thy brethren"...."Moses says "Like unto me"...Moses was of the Jewish nation as was Jesus.

Likewise the other verses that you mention in your article also support Jesus Christ is the PROPHET in these passages. There is no way Mohammed is the PROPHET mentioned here.

1- your idea about Jesus is still contradictory like our discussion in the previous article. while you believe that Jesus is son of God, how could it be that the Prophet in this verse is Jesus. What a big contradiction. you believe that Jesus is the son of God and still claim that the Prophet that Moses Prophesised is Jesus!

*Jesus and moses are not alike. Jesus was born through a miracle, the same way as Adam.

Moses and Mohammad are alike. why?

1-natural birth: born naturally from a father and mother.

2-they both migrated.

3-both had natural death (not like Jesus,his soul has been raised to God, when they wanted to crucify him)

all this is to explain the term 'like you' in the verse.

3- the prophet mentioned in the verse among "their brothers" . Abraham had two sons "Ismael' : father of Arab nation - and Isaac: father of Jewish nation. Muhammad is from the nation of Ismael, and moses is from nation of Isaac..that explains that God "will raise up a Prophet from their Brothers"; ie from the BROTHERS OF ISMAEL.

--conclusion: the verse was speaking about Mohammad (pbuh) and that was said in Quran (why don't you take the Quranic verse into account!)

Ok but the last verse of Jesus, was prophecising the comming of a Prophet the same way as moses did :you want to say here that Jesus was prohecising the comming of Jesus himself! Is that sounD?

I'm not confused about who Jesus is. I believe the Holy Bible contains many different names and descriptions of Jesus. He is the Word, Messias Christ, Eternal High Priest, Lord and Savior, Son of God, Son of man, Rabbi, teacher, Master, Good Shepherd, the Life, the Truth and the Way, Prophet, etc.

No contradiction. Please go back and read Deut. 18:15-19 again. Moses' command was that they listen to the Prophet God would send, whom "thou shalt hear". This PROPHET was to be, not like Joshua whom Moses invested with the leadership of Israel; not like the other prophets who functioned in Isreal before the beginning of the Christian era, but like Moses. He was to be a Mediator between man and Almighty God, but more excellent than Moses. Moses was a servant of the Lord whereas this PROPHET was to be the Lord Himself.

Again in Deut. 18:15-19, Almighty God, speaking through Moses, called upon the Isrealites, then me and you and really everyone in the world, To "harken to the Prophet of thy nation, (Isreal) who would be "like unto me" (Moses).

That PROPHET is Christ who proved to be more like Moses than any other person in the hisptory of Israel.

Both expounded basic religious principles

Both were legislators

Both wrought miracles

Both were mediators between man and God the Father in Heaven

Both were rejected by their people

and both ended their lives in apparent failure.

Yet, OUr Lord Jesus Christ was greater than Moses in that much of what Moses taught was of a temporary nature, bieng binding only until their fulfillment by the coming Prophet, Christ.

Moses taught the shall nots, while Jesus taught the blessed art thous, which may be called the negative and positive of divine teachings.

Moses spoke to God the Father in a cloud; Jesus saw Him face to face.

Moses revealed the nature of God, the "IAM WHO AM" whereas Christ claimed to be the "I AM" and proved it by His life teachings and works.

Moses declared the terrors of sin while Christ saved from sin.

Moses sinned while Christ was sinless.

Moses offered the blood of beasts for sacrifice while Christ offered His own Precious Blood for sacrifice.

Moses selected 12 spies while Christ selected 12 Apostles.

Moses selected Joshua as his successor while Christ designated Peter as His ambassador and Vicar on earth.

Moses brought a Covenant obtained from God on Mt. Sinai for the children of Isreal, whereas CHrist, the One Good Shepherd, whom the prophet Ezechiel said would come to shepherd a flock from all parts of the earth instituted a New and Everlasting Covenant in His blood foretold by Jeremias. This New Covenant which was to succeed the Mosaic Covenant embodied a Church universal in character which Christ established on Cephas, the rock, St.Peter.

Okay, let's cut to the chase. As far as what you have shown so far, you haven't made your case that Mohammed was revealed in the Old Testament.

As for the Qur'an's Jesus, Issa, was born of Mary (Miriam) under a palm tree, performs miracles and announces the future coming of Mohammed (and therefore Islam). He's not the Son of God but a simple mortal who does no more than promulgate the same message as the earlier prophets. This Jesus is NOT the Jesus in whom Christians proclaim their faith.

I know that ancient Judaism, Christianity and Islam all trace their origins to the self revelation of the ONe, True God to Abraham. And it stands to reason that since there is but one true God, then there can be but one true holy religion revealed by Him. If you really examine it closely, you'll find that Islam has emerged drastically different from Christianity. So herein lies the reason why Christians do not believe in your prophet Mohammed.

I have a copy of Hilaire Belloc's book, THe Great Heresies, and in it he puts forward a case first posed by St.John Damascene in the eighth century. That is that Islam in terms of religions, ought to be understood as a heretical form of Christianity (Mohammedanism) that came into being when Mohammed bought into the Gospels taught by schismatic sources (Nestorianism, Monophysitism, Arianism and Ebionites) that were prevelant in his day and intersected those with ideas culled from pre-Islamic Arab tribal religions and from the Jewish Talmud.

Yes, he did. Read John 8:58 for one thing. Read the whole book of John for another.

Lula is quite correct in her responses here. There is absolutely no references to Muhummad anywhere in the Hebrew scriptures.

In the Holy Scriptures there were three significant offices held by God's annointed. Prophet, Priest and King. You could hold one or maybe even two offices but ONLY Christ holds all three. He is Prophet, Priest and King.

Moses actually functioned as all three but did not hold the offices. He was not a king for instance although he functioned as one being the leader of the people. David was a King but not a priest or prophet. Samuel was a prophet and a priest but not a king. Saul was a king but not a prophet or priest. Nathan was a prophet but not a king or priest. etc.

ONLY Jesus fully holds all three offices.

Moses was a type of Christ. He was a deliverer, saving his people from physical bondage as Jesus is a deliverer saving his people from spiritual bondage. Moses brought in the law, Jesus brought in grace which is higher than the law.

What you're attempting to do Survivalstory is nothing new. I grew up in non-Christian cults my whole life. Each cult had a different take but it basically was the same page, diff story type of thing. Exactly like what you're doing. They all saw themselves in the scripture proving they had the right group or religion. But in order to do so, that they had to look the other way and ignore scriptures that shed clear pure light on their deceptions. It took me years to figure this out but the scriptures, if you're true to them, show you the way and the truth quite clearly.

The question is..do you really want the truth...or do you want what you want? Do you want the one true God or do you want your group? It's not about religion it's about a Savior.

Most people are quite content in being deceived, keeping them in bondage. You need to ask yourself this question.

Hello, your conception of Jesus peace be upon him is full of contradictions! Jesus never that he was son of God. Moses and jesus are not alike. Jesus was more like Adam than mose! you harm the memory of your Prophet by saying that he claimed to be greater than any one, while he was more modest than any common human..and this contradicts his teachings of love and humility.

Really? And where's your proof? Here's mine:

Jesus said himself:

"I AM the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE. No man comes to the Father, but by me." John 14:6

I'd say that he's quite clear here saying he's greater than any other wouldn't you? Notice he didn't say "a way" or "one of many" ways. He said THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE. Pretty bold declaration if you ask me.

As far as Jesus NOT saying he was the son of God...are YOU KIDDING ME? He kept calling God his Father for one thing. He also called himself the son of God many times. How about at his baptism when God himself called down and said "This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased."

No, there is no contradiction at all. Jesus is the greatest person who ever lived. Greater than Moses. He was the only God/man. Fully God yet fully human. Moses spoke of him saying that "you will listen to him." Moses was a great humble man, but he was not God. Moses typified Christ as many in the OT did. Moses always pointed to God the Father as did Jesus.

Jesus NEVER turned away worship of himself. There were a few who worshipped him when he walked the earth and none were refused to do so. He never said "get up I'm just a man" like Peter did. Even the angels said "get up" when one attempted to bow down. Thomas bowed and said "my Lord and my God." Peter said "you are the Christ, the son of the Living God" and neither were corrected by Christ when they did so. In fact they were commended.

Jesus rebuked many in the gospels but he never ever rebuked any who bowed down to worship him or reverence him in any way. How can you answer that?

Jesus also said twice he was the first and the last. Who can say that but God alone? He told the woman at the well (JOHN 4) that he was the Messiah the prophets spoke about. He also testified that a prophet is without honor in his own country.

Adam was NOT a prophet and was a sinner and a created being. Christ was neither. In fact, Adam and Moses have more in common than Jesus and Adam. Both were sinners. Both were created by Jesus himself. Both were human only.

You can't come to a blog, start posting you opinions and beliefs, allow people to comment on them and then scream "this is insulting". Debates are meant to be argued not get upset over. You are mistaken to assert that Jesus did not say He was the Son of God. Here it is in the entire context. Skip down to verses 34-36 if you don't want to read the whole thing.

Read St.John 10 verses 22-39. This is when my Lord Jesus was at the feast of the Dedication at Jerusalem. He was walking in the Temple and the Jews gathered round Him and asked Him, Tell us plainly are you the Christ? And

25 Jesus answered them: I speak to you, and you believe not: the works that I do in the name of my Father, they give testimony of me.

26 But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep. 27 My sheep hear my voice: and I know them, and they follow me. 28 And I give them life everlasting; and they shall not perish for ever, and no man shall pluck them out of my hand. 29 That which my Father hath given me, is greater than all: and no one can snatch them out of the hand of my Father. 30 I and the Father are one.

31 The Jews then took up stones to stone him. 32 Jesus answered them: Many good works I have shewed you from my Father; for which of these works do you stone me? 33 The Jews answered him: For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, maketh thyself God.

The Jews heard Jesus say that He was the Son of God and that's why at Jesus' trial they told Pilate they wanted Him crucified. It's found in chapter 19 verses 5 to 11.

After questioning Jesus, Pilate found no fault in Him. So he asked the Jews what do you want me to do with HIm? The Jews answered him, "We have a law, and by that law He ought to die, becasue He has made Himself the Son of God.

So enough with this false claim. It's one thing if you don't believe that Jesus is the Son of God, but quite another to say that my Lord Jesus Christ never said that He is the Son of God. He did say it.

Sorry, all this is blasphemy against Prophets of God!

you are the one that will stand before God answering the charge of blasphemy against HIS SON! God said himself before many witnessess "behold my son in whom I am well pleased." Nothing was done in secret unlike the religion of Muhammed was. Everything in the name of Christianity is done before two or more witnessess. All out in the open.

You are the one saying Jesus, (GOD in the flesh) is nothing more than mere man like Adam or Muhammed. Blasphemy in a nutshell is simply unbelief. You are unbelieving and will stand before God someday to answer the question "Who did you say that I am?"

It will all come down to that one question and how you responded to it. So while you still have breath in you on this side of eternity, I would implore you to honestly search with all your heart for the truth making sure it's done with a pure motive. Do the research and pray earnestly for truth.

I never said you insulted anyone, but considering you come to that conclusion when this was never stated, I can see why you can't understand Lula or KFC's comments. Just so you know that is what a debate is, repetition is part of the whole concept of debating. If you can't deal with having your opinions challenged then perhaps you should take my previous suggestion is block people from commenting on your articles. I never understand why people post articles with the option to comment on them only to get upset when someone does but does not necessarily support their opinions.

Hello Charles, a debate for me should come each time with something new, but just repeating the same thing again and again serves no one. I do not like this side of religion, which is in fact human invention, which says that 'my religion, my Prophet' is greater than any one, or 'my' Prophet is lord of all... In our religion, we are taught that all Prophets of God are equal, and we believe in them all..but when people keep saying, directly or indirectly, that they are better than you..what is the point of debating?..I see it that way. By the way, I do not like to block people (unless they insult and keep doing so.)

well, if your religion is Islam, this is news to me that Islam teaches that all prophets are equal. So are you saying that Muslims believe that Mohammed is not greater than any of the other prophets? Becasue from everything I've read and heard Islam teaches that Mohammed was the greatest of all the prophets including Jesus and also the last of them.

In our religion, we are taught that all Prophets of God are equal, and we believe in them all..

This presents a dilemna.

For if Islam teaches that you must believe in Jesus Christ, then what good is it if what you believe about Jesus CHrist is false? That Islam denies Jesus is the Son of God and is only a mere mortal man is one example when we've definitively shown that Jesus Himself said He is the Son of God.

I also understand that Muslims believe that Jesus was Himself a Muslim when the Gospels clearly show that on His Blessed Mother Mary's side, He was from the House of David. In other words, Jesus was born of a thoroughly Jewish Mother, the Lily of Israel.

It is commonly held that Muslims also bellieve that while many people perceived Jesus to be crucified, He did not really die..that another individual made to look like Jesus died and Jesus ecaped.
