Many of you may not have realized that this is a very special month, June is the month I am referring to. This special fact overrides the fact of the National Spelling Bee contest and overrides the fact that the summer starts in this month. This overrides D-Day because presidency for its the whole month and not just one day.
Some of you may not realize what I'm talking about while others may be partying it up so much cause of it that you just didn't realize it. Obama made last June a set aside month. A month set aside for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered month. I am not here to talk about people sexual orientation (when ever I hear that word I think of a seminar about sexual). That is for another post and another time for I believe if you like at the past you'll see a trend and historians are picking up on this yet that is for another time.
Here are some of my thoughts. First what about other races, ethnic groups, or whatever? What about Native Americans, white people as well as a lot of other ethnic groups have killed them. Oh what about having a month dedicated about Jews (no I am not speaking about religion either, so don't give me any of that non-sense. I am not saying religion is non-sense either, by far.)
Second, how does this help? Yeah, I know it suppose to bring my attention and I am suppose to learn about the group of the month. How does one month do any justice for what ever group? What really is the purpose? Some say that it is to bring people together. I beg to differ. I think that this divides more than bring together. It makes the groups that don't have months seem inferior or not important.
Should we or are we going to give/have a group for every month? Do I think/is that what I am saying? No and no. I don't think we should have a group every month. I think that this is absurd. We live in a politically correct society. Everything has to fair and equal. Well fair and equal to some. In Animal Farm (its a book), there is a quote that goes something like this 'All animals are made equal, but some were made more equal than others.' Everything is fair and equal, its just more fair and equal to some but not others.
I can attest to this and being on the end of not being quite fair and equal. Yes, being in a politically correct society is destructive for some but not all and that's a conversation for another post.
On a less serious note: Why do Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered get a whole month while blacks get a............. (If you don't get this joke let me know I'll explain to you about Feburary.)
