One of my husband and I's many goals this year is to do a much better job at managing our money. Specifically, we want to be able to build up our savings account. We have a lot of things in our life that we want to be saving for. We want to save for a down payment on a house, for children, and for an emergency fund. We were going to open multiple savings accounts, but we decided to just start with one and see how that goes.
We really want to be able to do a good job of achieving this goal this year because starting in the fall we are planning on making some big life changes. We want to be able to get pregnant, start shopping for houses, and start an online business. We are excited about this new stage of life, and it is really motivating us to do well with our finances. This finance template from Google Docs has helped us a lot.
To be able to do this we have to stop spending our money on non-essentials. Which means I can't buy a lot of jane iredale stuff or these, and that my husband can't buy a lot of High Sierra stuff. I think we'll be able to manage this alright. We'll just have to hold each other accountable. Well, I'm off to get so dinner and watch a movie. Peace.
