Thanksgiving with my husband and the rest of my family this past weekend was so great. My husband and I usually have to do a lot of traveling on Thanksgiving, and this year was no exception. The traveling didn't used to bother us, but its starting to take its toll on us. We can't wait until we have kids and they have to come visit us lol. Anyway, we woke up around seven a.m. to get our share of the cooking done to bring to my family's house. Then we got ready and realized that waking up at seven was a mistake and much too early, so we got to just hang out with each other for a while. That was very nice, kind of like the calm before the storm. We talked about what we were thankful for, and then watched a couple of SNL clips on Hulu to help the time pass. It was great because I love hanging out with my husband, no matter what we're doing. I love spending the holidays with my husband.
Anyway, around twelve we headed down to my parent's house in Kentucky and had a wonderful Thanksgiving there. It was so nice to have it with my baby niece there. My parents were giving my brother and sister-in-law parenting tips most of the time because their child was a bit fussy. We talked about how all of our jobs were going and talking about our Christmas plans. I think we may try to find some of these and go together as a family to see a Bengals game and that can cover our gifts to one another. Although, we may just go ahead and get each other presents anyway because we want to have presents to open on Christmas morning lol. Either way, I'm really looking forward to Christmas with my family this year. We always have a great time together at Christmas. My sister and my brother-in-law is coming in town for Christmas, which will be really nice. We hardly ever get to see them.
A few hours after having Thanksgiving at my family's house, we went to my husband's family's house in Ohio to have Thanksgiving there. I'm glad that I like Thanksgiving food so much, or all this traveling would be to much to bear lol. I'm also glad that my husband's mom is a wonderful cook. This year, we brought them one of those special occasion gift baskets instead of making food and bringing it over. We've never done that before, so we were nervous as to how they were going to take it. Luckily, they loved it and shared some of the chocolate contents with us. While we were there, they were telling me hilarious stories about my husband's older brother about how many times he's gotten physically injured. I always wondered why he was so crazy lol. He's a great guy, he's just a little too intense for me sometimes. My husband's mom was nice enough to share a few of her recipes with me before we left, and I can't wait to try them. Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving as well! Peace.
