Josh and I have been friends for about six years. We started out greatly disliking one another because we were total and complete opposites. That was also before I started dating and then married his best friend. The girl he married just so happened to be one of my best friends. After that, we decided that we need to start to make an effort to atleast understand one another if we were going to have to be around each other more often. Since then, Josh and I have become really great friends. He has become a person I have a lot of respect for, even though we are still different in many ways.
My friend Josh has a lot of great, unique, and crazy traits. Without a doubt, he is the most disciplined person I know. He is extremely healthy, and encourages everyone around him to be as well. He actually used to be a personal trainer, but now he is a firefighter. He actually has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, which means he is crazy smart. He's really into super heroes (like my husband) and mixed martial arts fighting. He loves to talk about it and is always having people over to his house to watch fights. He wears mma hoodies and these all the time. He owns more mma training equipment than anyone I know. The funny part is that I normally hate mma, but when he talks about it he's so excited that I actually find it somewhat interesting.
That's a perfect example of how we have come to understand and have great respect for one another. Even though we are different in many ways, we are also alike in some ways too. We both love extreme sports and love to read. We love coffee and we love The Office. Our main topic of conversation when we're together is typically quoting The Office. I love to tease him about how similar he is to Dwight, but he doesn't see it. The episode last night was great. You can see it here. I'm so thankful to have Josh and his wife as close friends. They are always looking for and taking opportunities to show my husband and I love, support, and generosity. That's all for now. Peace.
