Congrats to Bobby and Courtney
Two down, one to go.
With two sons now married, David just newly married in May, we've been saying "two down."
I'm hearing wedding bells off in the distance once again. Our eldest son just asked his girlfriend Courtney to marry him this past weekend. They haven't set a date but April could be a possibility.
Turns out it was this same day last August that David proposed to Aly and almost the exact hour David said.
It seems as tho poor Bobby was under a bit of pressure! Ha! He's marrying a twin and her twin sister just got engaged herself. Since the two couples have been dating about the same amount of time and since Bobby was eventually going to marry Courtney anyhow, the pressure was on. The handwriting was on the wall. I think he was hoping to finish up his schooling first but he'll be pushing 27 by the time he gets married anyhow and almost finished with his post grad work.
So the research for the perfect ring was on. In typical scientific fashion, he spent a good month researching diamond rings in every way imaginable from size, shape, glitter, quality etc. When he finally purchased the ring, after doing much research on the company behind the purchase, he took it to an independant appraiser who said the girl receiving this ring should consider herself a lucky girl. The ring was almost absolutely flawless with an excellent quality to it.
So the next step was going to the parent's home, without Courtney finding out, to ask for her hand in marriage. This was the hardest part of the whole deal although I'm not so sure why. There was NO way they were going to say no, heh!
Of course they didn't and are very happy that both of their girls have met nice boys. He was extremely nervous. Asking Courtney herself was a piece of cake next to this. When I asked why this was harder, he said because he already knew the answer that would come from his girlfriend but the parents were another matter. The dad could be sarcastic and Bobby was afraid he wouldn't be able to recognize the sarcasm or not. He was already a mess going in he wouldn't have been able to deal with a sarcastic answer. Not to worry, instead, the dad almost cried.
We've gone from having just three sons, two plus years ago, to having three daughters-in-law and two grandsons join our ever growing family.
Congrats to Bobby and Courtney.
