On The Evils of... Blacklisting

Now, I know Stardock has the blacklist feature for a reason, but seriously, when will you guys learn? If I don't blacklist you, why do you blacklist me? Do I have a tendendcy to spam comments? Do I have a tendency to be vulgar, profane, or crude? What is it about me that you really hate that actually warrants blacklisting me from your articles? Can you not stand my opinions? If so, tell me, argue with me. Heck, slander me for all I care, but blacklisting is a plain piece of crap.

What is it about me that you really hate that actually warrants blacklisting me from your articles?

If you haven't figured that out by now you definitely are stupid. BTW, LW (that's Little-Whip in case you haven't figured that out either) loves the Blacklist feature. I have had my taste of it, who cares. Move on. It's peoples blogs and they have the right to blacklist people for any reason of their choosing without having to give any explanation. So get over yourself and move on.

If the BL feature is "a plain piece of crap", then you gonna love the ignore feature once it's implemented on this site. You have been warned by many about it and the results of many on this site using it on you and you chose to ignore the warnings. Now you are crying foul over the BL list? You get what you pay for.

Blacklisting is not an enemy. It is useful when you have a harpie that cannot stay on topic and thinks that every article you write is an opportunity to attack you.

I do not believe it should be used to stiffle dissent, and have not used it for such. But I do use it to keep the petty people out.

Blacklisting is 100% up to the user so they can control exactly who can and can not post to their blogs. If they don't like you, they can prevent you from even considering posting on their articles. It may not because you've been vulgar or anything, it could be that they simply do not like you and do not wish to deal with you on their personal blog.

If someone blacklists you, just ignore it and move on. It shouldn't impact your own ability to blog here.

For seemingly being unable to keep my name out of your mouth (on this thread and MANY others that I'm not participating in)and for seemingly considering yourself some kind of 'expert' in 'dealing with LW', have another taste, Charles.

You're quite the character LW but maybe you missed the part where I replied based on a comment made on a post before mine. That was the reason I mentioned your name. Do you have a problem with the truth or something? It's OK for you to talk about people on this site, but when someone talks about you you go into PMS mode or something?

I wouldn't say I am an expert, but I am getting better at it. BL me all you want, we all have our own ways of feeling satisfaction. I'm sure I may not be at the top of the list but I'll probably be in the top 5 of your ignore list once the ignore feature is added.

Quite frankly, I think the ignore feature is better than the blacklist, because the blacklist detracts from discussion of those who want to learn, but the ignore lets you skip past those you don't want to see.
