Did you just call George H. W. Bush a conservative?
Best case scenario, you could call the Bush family in general moderate progressives. Bush Jr. expanded the size and scope of government far more than most Democratic presidents did, and his father wasn't much better. He got booted from a shoe in second term for raising taxes.
Republican is not conservative. They call it balancing the ticket. Reagan, a conservative, picked a liberal for his running mate. Bush, being the liberal he was, picked Dan Quayle, a conservative. He did not push conservative ideals, he did not exercise his veto power for conservative ideals. He let a rifle import ban through, raised taxes, let the feds tell businesses who they had to cater to, gave the EPA the power to fuck the country in a royal fashion, and a myriad of other arguably stupid and undeniably progressive things. The only conservative thing he did was put Quayle in charge of reworking regulations.
I can see why you get called communist. You've formed opinions based on bad information and broad brush entire economic sectors based on your own personal experience.
Venture capitalists funded most of the fortune 500 companies. Brad Wardell is a venture capitalist. Kickstarter is venture capitalism. They are not some monolith of evil that exist to torpedo entrepreneurs. The smart ones make money, the stupid ones lose it. Being crooked just gets you restricted to companies that will never succeed. No one with a good business plan needs dirt bags that just want to load them up with debt and try to sell them off.
People DON'T WANT anyone in their pockets but themselves.
It's human, it's proven, time and time again.
The richest sit on their money, biting every cent in 4.
Whenever they can, they WILL rob you, even when poor.
They cheat taxes as if it's an Olympic sport.
I'd cheat on taxes as much as I could get away with if I were rich too. The government pisses away two thirds of it's income tax revenue on crap it shouldn't be doing to start with, and uses the other third in such a wasteful manner that it's atrocious. Do you really think it's a good thing that we pay a contractor 200 grand a year to pay someone else two steps down the chain 50 grand to actually do the job? That's military contracting in a nutshell.
Gates has given most of his money away, so has Buffet. Most of the richest have. Ford and Rockefeller left massive charitable organizations in their wakes that to this day still fund economic development and general welfare advancement around the world, including Norman Borlaug's research. Borlaug got the Nobel prize for saving hundreds of millions from starvation. People like Rockefeller get vitriol from idiots calling them robber barons for spending their lives building up empires that funded massive charitable works, employed thousands with extremely well paying jobs, and improved the general quality of life with their goods and services.
Wealth is not a pie, and rich people don't sit on it anyway. It's not making them anything unless they use it.
