How do I get Text Enhance off of my computer?

Ive read http://wafflesatnoon.com/2011/10/05/seeing-unwanted-text-enhance-ads/ and I have followed its directions. When I try to go to other forums where people have brought up this problem, theres nothing but morons "trying to help", being extremely and frustratingly vague. I even tried superantispyware (albeit the FREE version but that shouldnt matter seeing it only misses out on features whose usefulness is negligible). I know Im not alone on this either, because I went to a google discussion page and almost all the "trying to help" comments were rated by almost everybody as NOT helpful.

Okay, if you wanna try and help thats great, but be very specific please.

Quoting Wizard1956,

What is this bullshit?

Anyways, I would be extremely grateful if anybody had a fix for this, dont want to give anybody the wrong impression. If you had visited the forums that I had you would have been just as frustrated.

You have a strange way of asking for help. Be nice, and help may come.. Be snippy, and you'll be met with a cold shoulder.

It's likely something quite common/well-known to the people involved with HijackThis and posting its log on their forums will most likely get a solution.

What a community! I didn't see any attitude in asking his question...frustration yes but no attitude. The only attitude I saw here was some of the "help" he got. Listen to Jafo JCD.

While I admit his attitude here is fine, on other threads his attitude sucks and these guys (especially Jafo) have had to deal with him a little too much to be unbiased.

Coming off so abrasive and rude to people gets information delivered in the same shape it was asked.

Exactly my point, ID. I enjoy helping others, even those who may be more than a little frustrated. Unfortunately, there are those who simply do not deserve any assistance based upon their attitude. Jafo went beyond the call of duty to help, IMHO.

Giz, I based my response on his other threads, which you may not have read, not this one.  He craps on the community and you blame us? If he can't take what he dishes out, too bad, call the waaambulance.

Seriously then, this is sure to get rid of it.....reformat.

That's an option....though my suggestion is less drastic.

I can never stress enough [and I'm sure yrag will concur] there is next to NO NEED for browser addons of any sort..... and certainly not ones that cause the crap that JCD is seeing.

True, past attitude influences perceptions, but this time ... he was talking about other Forums. Not ours. So, relax all. Deeeep cleansing breath. Ommmmmmm.

I wasn't aware of any other threads he was being abusive on...so I based my response on this one. But I would agree with someone crapping on the people here...they need to go.

On the surface, yes I look like a complete ass, but theres a legitimate reason I said "I guess" specifically to him. Its a long story.

Google toolbar shows up in my list of programs but when I try to remove it, it just opens firefox. When I go to the addons in firefox Its there but theres no "remove" button. That couldnt be it could it?

What do you guys think about superantispyware?

There's no 'legitimate reason'.

Did you try HiJackThis?

It will list such things as BHOs [Browser Helper Objects] eg toolbars, etc.   and often you'll be surprised what's there.

The ONLY issue with Hijackthis is it is 'powerful' in that it is not for the novice or unwary....which is why there are forums etc. for the Logs to be analysed.

If all else fails, yrag may see your plight and suggest other solutions.....he's never wrong....[which can be quite annoying].

Pretty good app. I've used the portable, U3 ,and installed versions. It does a good job. I've since switched to Malwarebytes on my main rig, but still use the portable versions to scan rigs I'm working on. You might want to look at Malwarebytes also.

You didn't state what you were using to remove the toolbar, but I recommend Revo Uninstaller. Run it on Moderate and after the scan is finished, delete only those registry entries marked in bold. Add/ Remove Programs is the last thing I would use to uninstall with, but that's just me.
