Christmas On The Road

I am spending the holiday weekend in a small motel in Wisconsin. Could be worse, I suppose.

There was some snow last night, just enough to cover the ground a bit but not enough to be a real traffic hazard. The folks around here seem happy to have the snow for the holiday.

I'll be hitting the Piggly Wiggly later this morning to stock up on some food as I am sure nothing will be open tomorrow. The room has a fridge and microwave.

My weekend layover is more or less forced. I had hoped to run over the weekend but my next load is a wide, tall, and heavy generator going to Houston. The law prohibits moving over-sized loads over the holiday weekend so I can't move until Monday morning. The crane is set up for Thursday morning so I'll have plenty of time to get there. May as well use the down time to get some rest and, assuming the laundromat is open today, do some laundry.

Not a very exciting weekend, but perhaps a restful one. Sometimes that's enough.

I'm spending the evening at home alone too.  My daughter and her family went to visit the in laws but I wasn't interested in going.  I'll watch what's left of football this evening and work on my knitting projects.  Relax and enjoy your time off.

Quoting notronaj,
Merry Christmas Mason.  Rest is needed by all.

Merry Christmas, Judy. I think a lot of people wear themselves down this time of year rushing around shopping, cooking, visiting, etc.  Rest can be a good thing.
